Lene Enghusen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. She completed her teacher education and worked some years as a teacher before

she moved in 1987 to Cologne in Germany, where she stil lives and works. She started up in the early 1990’s with photography opening out in the

the early 2000’s with painting, overpainted photos and later on sculptures. In this period she attended several artist classes being very curious to learn and expand her artist knowledge. Even being settled since 2009 as a freelance artist working in her studio in an abandoned factory in Cologne, Lene Enghusen still is keen to expand her artist knowledge, the portability of her mind and so her mode of expression . Being at home both in Denmark and Germany, she is called an artist between Denmark and Germany. This does not mean that her art is settled between the two countries as art has been cross-border and global for a long time. Born and brought up in Denmark she feels attracted to nature, to light and to the sea. She transposes these impressions into her art - not only from Denmark or Germany, but also from multiple journeys around the world. The organic working progress, the being „pregnant“ with her projects and very good craftsmanship is most important for Lene Enghusen. Recently it was written about Lene Enghusen that she has a „perceiving seeing“ in her works. Her art involves us as a complete human being and requires a holistic and mindful process of seeing and recognising. In her motives is visible that her love for the landscape and the nature ignites her passion for shape and colour.
